Hand Spun Yarn - 100% Superwash Merino Wool
Hand Spun Yarn - 100% Superwash Merino Wool
This 100% Superwash Merino fibre was spun up into a worsted weight, 3 ply yarn, using my Ashford E-Spinner.
I used 218 grams of fibre in total from three different braids of a 22 Micron 100% Superwash Merino
I chose on a fractal spin for this yarn, to keep the colours from getting too ‘muddy’ and to give nice little stretches of colour, which would translate into a gentle striping effect once knitted up!
This skein is 218 grams and approximately 574 yards, of a Worsted weight yarn. The yarn itself is soft, and has great bounce to it.
I used about 350 grams of this same batch to knit my very first Traveler shawl (pattern by Andrea Mowry) and have included pictures so you can see how this skien will knit up.
Hand spun yarn is special to work with, as it really does have a personality of it’s own, compared to commercially spun yarn. It is, by nature, imperfect, making your hand knits even more wonderful and unique!
Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry to preserve the dyes and quality of the fabric.
