Hand Spun Yarn - 100% Untreated Merino Wool

This 100% Untreated Merino fibre was spun up into quite a rustic yarn, that varies from fingering weight to DK weight, and everything in between!

I used 22 Micron Untreated Merino Fibre to spin this yarn. You’ll need to be mindful of sharp temperature increases and decreases when washing this yarn, as it could felt if burned with hot water or put in the dryer. Some dye bleeding during the soaking process is normal with untreated wool. 

This skein is 200 grams and approximately 680 yards. It’s a 2 ply yarn, and you’ll find some gentle differences in thickness from yard to yard, which can give a gorgeous linen like texture effect in hand knit shawls and cowls! 

Hand spun yarn is special to work with, as it really does have a personality of it’s own, compared to commercially spun yarn. It is, by nature, imperfect, making your hand knits even more wonderful and unique! This skein has one join in it, as the strand snapped during the reskeining process. I've discounted this skien by 15$ CAD to make up for that aspect, as well as some of the wonkiness in thickness.

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry to preserve the dyes and quality of the fabric.
