Two braids in beachy blues and turquoises, with hints of sandy beiges and calming browns, were left behind in the inventory when I closed my Etsy shop last year. Out of sheer curiosity, I spun them myself and the results are truly breathtaking. Nautical vibes all the way with this spin, which is sure to win you over!
This jumbo skein of 2 ply yarn is made up of 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon, making it easy to care for, sturdy and strong, while also being so soft and bouncy. I love how the colours collide together and you can count on lots of gentle colour shifting as your rows unfold one by one.
This big finished skein clocks in at 205 grams and 1054 yards of light sport weight yarn. In some places it might run closer to a fingering weight yarn, as is the beauty of handspun, it’s rarely consistently perfect in weight. An ideal amount of yardage for a large shawl, or mosaic knitting piece, as it pairs effortlessly with so many Forever Colourways (like Inkwell, Barista, Espresso, November Fog, or Ocean Breeze just to name a few!) if you’re looking for colour play!
Hand spun yarn is special to work with, as it really does have a personality of it’s own, compared to commercially spun yarn. It is, by nature, imperfect, making your hand knits even more wonderful and unique!
Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry to preserve the dyes and quality of the fabric.
