Hand Spun Yarn - 100% Superwash Merino Wool

This 100% Superwash Merino fibre was spun up into a sport weight, 2 ply yarn, using my Ashford E-Spinner. This skein took about 8 hours to spin, which is why the price point is elevated in comparison to commercially spun yarn. 

I used about 100 grams of fibre from a 22 Micron 100% Superwash Merino braid currently listed in the Fibre section of the shop. I was curious to see how the colours would look once spun up into yarn! I chose on a fractal spin for this yarn, to keep the colours from getting too ‘muddy’ and to give nice little stretches of colour, which would translate into a gentle striping effect once knitted up! 

This skein is 102 grams  and approximately 365 yards, of a Sport Weight yarn. The yarn itself is soft, and has great bounce to it.

Hand spun yarn is special to work with, as it really does have a personality of it’s own, compared to commercially spun yarn. It is, by nature, imperfect, making your hand knits even more wonderful and unique! 

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry to preserve the dyes and quality of the fabric.
