Hand Spun Yarn - 100% Superwash Merino Wool

This 100% Superwash Merino fibre was spun up into a fingering weight/sport weight, 2 ply yarn, using my Ashford E-Spinner. Blues, greens and golds are always my favourite to work with! 

The fibre itself was a sample braid of 100% Superwash Merino, that is different from the other Superwash Merino I typically carry in my shop and spin with. This batch feels more wooly, it has more grip to it and is less slippery than the 22 micron stuff I’m used to. It takes the dye colours, and behaves in water just as expected, but the yarn itself is slightly more rustic in feel. 

This skein is 86 grams and approximately 327 yards. A perfect amount of yardage for a contrast colour in a sweater, or shawl.

Hand spun yarn is special to work with, as it really does have a personality of it’s own, compared to commercially spun yarn. It is, by nature, imperfect, making your hand knits even more wonderful and unique! 

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry to preserve the dyes and quality of the fabric.
